Real Simple is spotlighting a laundry room hack that adds instant storage — turning dead space into function, no renovation required. Laundry rooms are chronically under-designed in a lot of NW suburb homes built a few decades back, so a low-cost storage fix here punches well above its weight when it comes to everyday livability.

What this means for you

None of these are $30,000 renovations, and that's the point.
